Job Summary
Technical Assistant in the Free Standing Emergency Department will perform phlebotomy, specimen handling/processing, instrument loading, and CLIA-defined waived and moderately complex testing under guidance of technical staff. Responsibilities include loading and preparing specimens, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, performing quality control, interpreting QC results, ensuring testing is completed timely, tracking supplies, and complying with safety and department policies. Must have strong communication and ability to work under pressure; role requires high school diploma and laboratory experience; associate degree preferred in Natural Science/Allied Health or MLS program enrollment. The position is full-time, evening shift with weekend and holiday rotation, based at Beavercreek, OH.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred in Natural Science/Allied Health or current enrollment in Medical Laboratory Science program
- Laboratory experience required
- Medical terminology and keyboarding skills helpful
