Job Summary
Partner directly with clinical labs to implement and optimize MicroScan analyzers, delivering hands-on technical support that improves workflow and patient outcomes. Lead the execution of customer-driven plans to elevate antimicrobial stewardship and strengthen clinical decision-making while troubleshooting challenges to ensure consistent, high-quality performance. Reimagine lab workflows by introducing strategies that reduce manual touchpoints and enhance efficiency across IT, LIS, and integrated software systems. Connect science to impact by collaborating with sales and lab leaders to align solutions with clinical, operational, and financial priorities. This travel-driven, science-focused role requires 75% travel within the Chicago region and reports to the Technical Applications Manager for the Microbiology territory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in field
- Master's degree in field
- 5+ years' experience
- 3+ years' experience
- Clinical laboratory experience
- Previous technical applications experience
- Hands-on system troubleshooting
- Hands-on consumables troubleshooting
- Understanding of verification and validation of consumables
- Understanding of verification and validation of instrumentation
- Understanding of verification and validation of workflows
- Ability to engage and collaborate across all staff in a clinical microbiology lab
- Ability to build trusted relationships
- Ability to effectively communicate technical insights to diverse audiences
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to effectively deliver technical information to laboratory teams

- Must reside in the territory

Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in: Direct experience working as a Microbiology Medical Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist in clinical microbiology
- Experience with automated identification/antimicrobial susceptibility testing systems
- Experience with basic hardware
- Experience with software
- Experience working with IT/LIS concepts and teams
