Job Summary
Technical Animator to implement and optimize gameplay animation, collaborating with the Gameplay Animators and Designers to deliver high-quality visual results. Responsibilities include in-game implementation and optimization of animation features, developing and improving in-game animation systems/tools, prototyping new gameplay mechanics’ visuals, updating animation assets using Maya/ MotionBuilder/ Python, participating in Motion Capture sessions, and maintaining animation workflows, conventions, and engine-related structures. The role requires experience with Unreal (preferably Unreal 5), MetaHumans/blueprints, motion capture data, scripting (C++, C#, Python), and a strong passion for game development.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of Unreal, ideally Unreal 5
- Excellent knowledge of MetaHumans, blueprints
- Shipped titles and/or own prototypes and research in one of the major game engines
- Knowledge of next-gen game animation systems architecture
- Animation graphs techniques - State machines, Blend Trees, Blendspaces and Procedural Animation constructions
- Experience with keyframe animation and motion capture data, animation principles and body mechanics
- Basic knowledge of Coding and/or Scripting. (C++, C#, Python), to be able to read and update game code and scripts
- Proficiency with Maya, MotionBuilder or Python batch tools for animation asset updates
- Participation in Motion Capture sessions
- Establishing and maintaining the animation workflow, folders, naming conventions, and engine-related structures
- Good communication and problem solving skills
- Passion for making games
