Job Summary

Provide technical and programmatic assistance in designing and implementing hypertension and diabetes treatment activities, including capacity-building, planning, and strengthening supervision of service providers. Support primary health care delivery by ensuring uninterrupted medicine availability and monitoring drug procurement systems. Conduct regular supportive supervision visits to project sites, monitor program implementation, and facilitate rapid cycle process improvements. Collaborate with government partners, implementing teams, and stakeholders to track progress against indicators and deliverables. Develop knowledge management products, technical presentations, and policy briefs to drive advocacy and program scale-up. Explore private sector engagement strategies to strengthen national control efforts. This two-year fixed-term role reports to the Technical Director and requires extensive travel across India for on-site work.

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS
  • Post graduate degree in Public Health
  • Minimum eight years of professional experience in public health programming
  • At least three years of working with national/ state governments
  • Strong command of English
  • Able and willing to travel extensively to project sites within India (8-10 days per month)
  • Based in Delhi

Desired Qualifications

  • Post graduate degree in Public Health (equivalent)
  • Prior experience in Non-communicable Diseases and Health System Strengthening
  • Experience of working closely with State and National Government institutions, including Ministries, National Health Mission (NHM), and State Health Departments
  • Prior work experience with State and National government especially with NHM
  • In-depth understanding of national public health programs
  • Experience in providing technical assistance related to strengthening institutional and individual capacity in health systems, across all levels
  • Demonstrated experience writing technical reports and proposals, policy briefs, and publications
  • Experience in operations research, scientific writing, including contribution to peer-reviewed manuscripts, analytical reports, or evidence synthesis
  • Familiarity with regional Indian languages
