Job Summary
Senior Manager, Technical Accounting will lead technical accounting research and memo preparation for complex transactions (ASC 606/IFRS 15 revenue recognition, inventory and manufacturing cost accounting, consolidation and VIE, equity and SBC, investments, debt financing, lease accounting under ASC 842/IFRS 16, impairment, going concerns, and business combinations). Will support U.S. GAAP and IFRS reporting, bridge accounting differences, partner with FP&A, operations, supply chain, legal, tax, treasury, and HR, coordinate with external auditors, monitor new standards, and help develop accounting policies and internal controls. 10+ years of experience and CPA required; Semiconductor/manufacturing/technology exposure preferred; strong communication and multi-priority management skills; proficient in Excel and SAP. The role is based in San Jose, California, with hybrid remote work options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting with a Big 4 or national firm
- Strong technical accounting knowledge under U.S. GAAP and familiarity with IFRS
- Experience with consolidation/VIE assessments, equity/SBC accounting, investments, and complex transaction accounting
- Ability to analyze and bridge key accounting differences between U.S. GAAP and IFRS
- Experience preparing technical accounting memorandums and supporting external audits
- Semiconductor, manufacturing, or technology industry experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP
- Experience with external audits and coordinating with auditors
- Experience with SEC reporting and multinational statutory reporting (preferred)
- Experience mentoring or leading junior staff (preferred)
