Job Summary
Technical Accounting Manager who will research, document, and implement US GAAP conclusions, partnering across Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Commercial, Operations, and external advisors to convert complex transactions into clear accounting conclusions, journal entries, controls, and reporting support. The role emphasizes building and improving processes, owning technical accounting memos and documentation, coordinating with external valuation specialists and auditors, translating conclusions into journal entries and disclosures, and identifying automation and repeatable review procedures in a rapidly scaling environment. Responsibilities encompass ASC 842 lease accounting (including geothermal leases), embedded derivatives in debt facilities, hedge accounting, tax equity structures, PPAs and structured energy transactions, and maintaining audit-ready support with reviewer sign-off. Preferred qualifications include CPA and Big Four experience; energy, infrastructure, or project finance exposure is beneficial.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful technical accounting research exposure
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research, document, and defend accounting conclusions
- Experience preparing or reviewing technical accounting memos and audit-ready documentation
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Operations, Commercial, external advisors, and auditors
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with complex agreements, financial models, valuations, and supporting data
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple high-priority technical matters under tight reporting timelines
