Technical Account Specialist - Final Control Valves

Job Summary
Prepare proposals and quotes for petrochemical, refining, and power application solutions, including valve engineering, sizing, selection, delivery, and pricing within Salesforce. Assist outside sales in achieving strategic goals by interacting with customers daily via phone and email to provide technical, commercial, and sales support. Develop customer requirements, manage changes to quotations and active orders, and proactively follow up on conversions to ensure high customer satisfaction and loyalty. Take oversight of sales assistants for order entry, delivery status determination, and expediting while managing workload and engaging internal and external resources to meet deadlines. Continually develop technical proficiency with represented products and suggest process improvements to increase team efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA degree or combination of applicable education and experience
- 3-5 years as an Insides sales representative or equivalent in a technical sales environment
- Strong PC proficiency including MS Office, principal supplied tools, internal business system and internet
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with a cross section of other employees, principals, and customers
- Strong customer service skills including the ability to develop rapport and trust with customers and other employees
- Good conflict resolution and problem solving skills
- Strong self-management skills to include dependability, initiative, innovation, professionalism, and organization skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- High ethical standards in dealing with customers and principals
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced technical knowledge/understanding of petrochemical, refining, power, and industrial product offerings and/or business and the industries served throughout the Houston Ship channel and/or Freeport area
- Previous valve experience
