Job Summary
Technical Account Manager – Photonics responsible for driving revenue growth in laser micromachining services across target US markets. Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal engineering/production teams, analyze customer requirements (drawings, materials, tolerances), and propose optimal laser processing solutions. Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and quotations; collaborate with engineers on feasibility and manufacturability; work with project management to fulfill delivery requirements; maintain accurate forecasts and Salesforce records; stay current on industry trends and competing technologies. Travel up to 50% for tradeshows, conferences, customer visits, and events. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of technical sales or applications engineering experience; strong technical credibility with engineers and manufacturing teams; ability to translate complex concepts into customer value; excellent organizational and communication skills; experience with laser micromachining and familiarity with various materials. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Physics, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales or applications engineering
- Strong understanding of precision manufacturing processes (laser processing, micro-machining, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with Salesforce and technical quoting processes preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage complex, consultative sales cycles
