Technical Account Executive (SF/U.S. West Coast)
RemoteUnited States or San Francisco, California, United States
Job Summary
Own the initial relationship with inbound customers seeking a human before signing up, covering the full spectrum from high-velocity startups to Mid-Market/Enterprise engagements. Conduct warm outbound to large companies, guiding them through initial evaluations and right-sizing contracts. Find prospects at target organizations and close deals end-to-end, meeting and exceeding quarterly targets while managing multi-threaded deal cycles. Provide expert technical advice on PostHog products, configuration best practices, and SDKs to drive adoption. Convert both inbound and outbound lead flow into a real pipeline by prioritizing high-fit opportunities. Work directly with product teams to own customer feedback, write async communications, and build white-glove 1-1 relationships without automation.
Required Qualifications
- You're able to go deep on understanding PostHog's products, including more technical ones like feature flags and data warehouse
- Commercially-minded
- Strong customer focus
- Good at handling relationships strategically
- You write well
- You've managed a book of business and/or are comfortable leading multi-threaded deal cycles across various technical organizations, legal and procurement
- You're based in the San Francisco Bay Area or elsewhere on the U.S. West Coast
- If you're based outside the Bay Area, you should be willing and able to travel regularly to San Francisco
- Being hyper responsive is a must
- You need to feel like an extension of a customer's existing team
- You'll need to be an expert on all PostHog products
- You'll need to be able to advise on configuration best practices to companies with multiple products and applications
- You'll need to be able to advise on the pros and cons of different SDKs
- You'll need to be able to advise on how to implement PostHog into their existing stack
- You should be able to tell the difference quickly [between inbound and outbound leads]
- You should be able to prioritize who PostHog will be a good fit for and close them efficiently
- This role has a base salary component plus commission for hitting/exceeding sales targets
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with similar technologies, i.e. developer tools more broadly, or specifically product analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, data warehouses, or data pipelines
- You've built outbound campaigns before – not just executed someone else's sequences
- You've shipped something (a tool, a workflow, an automation) that made your team more effective
