Tech Transfer CAD Engineer

Job Summary
Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for wire harnesses, flexible circuits, and battery interconnect assemblies using established standards. Support technology transfer and new product introduction (NPI) activities by transitioning designs from development into manufacturing environments. Modify existing designs to improve manufacturability, collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering changes, and manage the release of engineering components and documentation. Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing practices and develop CAD best practices and training materials. Travel approximately 25% of the time to the Redwood City, CA R&D site. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2+ years of CAD design experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CAD Design, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of CAD design experience, preferably supporting electrical, electromechanical, automotive, or manufacturing-related products
- Experience managing large assemblies and complex 3D CAD models
- Must be comfortable traveling ~25% of the time to our R&D site in Redwood City, CA
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to continuously learn and improve
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams
- Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting product transfers, design transfers, new product introduction (NPI), or manufacturing launch activities preferred
- SolidWorks experience
- Experience supporting technology transfer, product transfer, NPI, or manufacturing ramp-up activities
- Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments
- Familiarity with engineering change management (ECN/ECO), product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, and release processes
- Startup experience
- Familiarity with wire harnesses, flexible circuits, battery systems, or electromechanical assemblies
