Job Summary
Identify, respond to, and resolve voice and data service issues across Layer 2 and Layer 3 products, including copper, fibre, Ethernet circuits, managed CPEs, and firewalls. Proactively detect, investigate, and restore network and security incidents while adhering to KPIs and industry best practices. Handle incoming Security Service Requests, record detailed fault information, and champion operational excellence through root cause analysis and service improvements. This role follows a 12-hour shift pattern on a 4-on, 4-off rotation: two day shifts (07:00–19:00) followed by two night shifts (19:00–07:00). You will report to a Shift Manager within PXC's Technical Operations function, working closely with internal teams and external partners to keep services running securely.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable Technical knowledge Infra/Network/Security experience
- Understanding of Network and Security Principles and practical application of these in relation to Fault and Incident Triage and Response
- Demonstrate ability to problem solve, prioritising routine and non-routine tasks and work accurately and quickly in a high-pressure incident situation
- Ability to communicate and advise on security and network topics to key stakeholders in an understandable form
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant Security or Network qualification or degree
- Experience working in a Network/Security Support function
- Practical experience with the latest technologies and vulnerabilities, exploits and malware
