Tech Linguistic Tester

Job Summary
Tech Linguistic Tester responsible for proofreading and editing localized content in your native language, catching errors in grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, and inconsistencies, and translating content from English to the native language when needed. You will also check UIs for functional issues, write and report bugs using internal tracking systems, adhere to client-specific quality standards and glossaries, and verify translations in software, mobile apps, and documentation. The role requires strong linguistic expertise, cultural awareness, organized work habits, and good communication, with tasks including researching linguistic questions, validating terminology, and following test cases and quality checklists to ensure accurate, culturally relevant content. The position is described as part-time with onsite/offsite flexibility depending on location, and the employer is Welocalize with global offices; the role is based at the PDX Testing Lab in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Native-level fluency in required language(s) and strong English skills
- Experience with MS applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work onsite and/or remote depending on location
- Attention to detail and quality
- Ability to write and report bugs using client-specific bug tracking tools
- Experience with localization/QA/translation is preferred
