Tech Lead/Staff Java Engineer

Lead the design and delivery of scalable Java-based systems, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence. Responsibilities include architecture design of complex systems, leading code reviews, optimizing PostgreSQL performance, building robust data solutions, engineering messaging infrastructure with Kafka, owning production reliability and performance, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Required skills include extensive production Java experience, JVM internals expertise, strong system design capabilities, PostgreSQL performance tuning, Kafka/messaging knowledge, concurrency and security best practices, and leadership experience with team mentoring and effective stakeholder communication using upper-intermediate English. Tech stack includes Java 25, Spring Boot 4, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, AlloyDB for PostgreSQL, Spanner, Ebean ORM, Flyway, Redis, Websockets, and related tooling.
