Job Summary
Lead Wayve’s Motion Controls team, owning the technical roadmap and delivery across controls, trajectory generation, and the interface with the Wayve AI Driver. Provide strategic technical direction, mentorship, and delivery ownership to build robust, real-world motion behavior across product platforms. Collaborate with partners to align product needs with system constraints, shape the team’s growth, and drive the evolution of control and ML-informed autonomonomy solutions. This senior role requires strong leadership, deep expertise in controls and motion generation, and a track record of delivering production-quality software in autonomy or robotics contexts. The position is based in a hybrid setup in Sunnyvale, CA (and globally, with a hybrid policy).
Required Qualifications
- Experience managing or leading engineers including setting priorities, driving execution, and supporting growth and performance
- Experience leading technical direction for complex autonomy, robotics, or other physical AI systems
- Experience building, shipping, and maintaining production systems, including translating product and system requirements into technical plans and execution
- Experience working on production systems with machine learning models (prediction, trajectory generation, planning, or control)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with production-quality code
- Experience working across software, platform, and physical boundaries
- Desirable: experience with Python and C++ in production autonomy or robotics systems
- Desirable: ISO26262 or SOTIF experience
