Job Summary
Tech Lead for an e-commerce platform leading a cross-functional engineering team in Berlin. Own the technical direction, define architecture, drive Spec Driven Development and AI-generated code quality gates, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product/UX to optimize customer journeys and conversions. Responsibilities include end-to-end delivery, architectural trade-offs, and fostering a systems-thinking mindset across services and teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development
- Hands-on technical leadership experience
- Strong coding skills with Java backend and JavaScript frontend (VueJS/Angular/React)
- Experience delivering complex, high-performance web applications at scale
- Built or owned features in at least two core e-commerce domains (checkout, payments, routing, product listings, search, order management) or equivalent
- Experience with AI-assisted workflows and guardrails
- Architectural thinking across services, domains, and team boundaries
- English proficiency; German is a strong plus
