Job Summary
Design and operate scalable, resilient backend services in Go and TypeScript for 1inch's core DeFi platform, integrating with smart contracts and blockchain infrastructure. Lead technical planning, micro-architecture, and architecture reviews while establishing engineering standards and coding practices. Balance feature delivery with long-term maintainability, acting as the primary quality gate for production changes. Spend 50-80% of time writing production code and lead AI-first engineering practices to accelerate delivery. Mentor engineers and partner with Product, Blockchain, Infrastructure, and Security teams to build blockchain indexing and data processing systems supporting routing, pricing, and analytics.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, including technical leadership responsibilities
- recent experience within a Defi / Blockchain or Web3 company as a Tech Lead or Senior engineer who is looking for their next role as a Tech Lead managing a team
- expert-level experience building backend systems with Go
- strong professional experience with TypeScript
- deep expertise designing and operating distributed systems, event-driven architectures and cloud-native platforms
- strong experience building secure, scalable and highly available production systems
- strong understanding of blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, blockchain indexing and Web3 backend development
- extensive practical experience using Cursor AI or comparable AI-native engineering environments
- proven experience applying AI-assisted engineering across architecture, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation and code review
- experience designing or scaling agentic software delivery workflows and helping engineering teams adopt AI effectively
- understand how AI can accelerate software delivery without compromising engineering quality, security or maintainability
- excellent system design, communication and technical leadership skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MCP-based engineering workflows
- Experience building internal AI engineering platforms or developer productivity tooling
- Experience with multiple blockchain ecosystems beyond EVM
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes or advanced cloud-native infrastructure
- Cloud, Kubernetes, security or blockchain certifications
