Job Summary
Senior Android Engineer to own major features in Speechify's Android app, shape the future of the Android team, maintain reliability metrics for key features, and collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering. Responsibilities include owning feature releases and nightly builds for QA, reviewing pull requests, handling critical issues, and delivering high-quality user experiences with Kotlin, Jetpack components, Dagger 2, MVVM, and rigorous testing. The role emphasizes leadership through technical excellence, strong communication, and a user-centric approach to Android UI/UX.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Familiarity with Android components
- Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app
- Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests
- Excellent communication skills
- User oriented problem solving approach
- Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX
- Understanding of the importance of tests and how to approach writing tests
