Tech Lead, Android Core Product - San Francisco, CA, USA

Senior Android Engineer to own major features inside Speechify's Android app and shape the Android team. Responsibilities include owning features end-to-end, delivering high-quality experiences, maintaining reliability metrics for key features, participating in cross-team discussions (Product, Design, Engineering), reviewing pull requests, handling critical issues, taking ownership of feature releases, and providing nightly builds for QA. Ideal candidates should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, familiarity with Android components, experience building or contributing to at least one Android app, product design intuition and user empathy, a drive to push Android UI/UX boundaries, emphasis on tests, self-drive to improve the app and codebase, and strong proficiency with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit. Bonus: OSS contributions, experience with iOS/Web/NodeJS. Technologies used include Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Jetpack Navigation, Dagger 2, Room, Custom Views, Jetpack Compose, JUnit.
