Job Summary
Senior Android Engineer to own major features in Speechify's Android app, shape the Android team, maintain reliability metrics for key features, collaborate with Product and Design, review PRs, and drive feature releases. Responsibilities include owning features end-to-end, delivering high-quality user experiences, coordinating with QA for nightly builds, and contributing to a fast-growing, distributed environment. Requirements emphasize 5+ years of Android experience, Kotlin stack proficiency (Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Jetpack Navigation), Android UI/UX design empathy, testing mindset, strong communication, and a bias toward ownership and continuous improvement. Bonus experience with open-source Android projects and additional platforms (iOS/Web/NodeJS). Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience

- Self-drive to improve the app and codebase above and beyond what's outlined in the spec
- Rock solid experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests
- Excellent communication skills
- User oriented problem solving approach
- Driven with continuous feedback from leaders
