Job Summary

The Server Repair Tech will be responsible for testing, trouble shooting, and replacement of parts on servers sent to SMS for diagnosis and repair. Daily responsibilities include inspecting, testing, diagnosing servers, replacing parts as needed, conducting server stress tests, and documenting all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in the shop floor tool. Collaborates with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, inspections personnel and provides backup for QC, inspection, and motherboard testing. Maintains parts consumption and follows leadership for other duties. Team building & leadership duties include maintaining a positive work environment and collaborating with warehouse, shipping, and receiving. Essential skills include knowledge of basic server architecture, ability to assemble components, run and understand testing diagnostics, and basic networking. Education and experience emphasize a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred 1 year of repair depot experience and familiarity with brands such as ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, Apple, Acer. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and demonstrated skill working with temp agencies. Working conditions include sitting/standing for long periods, lifting up to ~25 lbs, and tolerance of warehouse noise. SMS InfoComm Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
