Job Summary

The Server Repair Tech will test, troubleshoot, and replace parts on servers sent for diagnosis and repair. Daily duties include inspecting, testing, diagnosing servers; replacing parts as needed; conducting server stress tests; documenting symptoms, test results, and parts replaced; collaborating with motherboard repair/testing QC teams; backing up for QC and motherboard testing; maintaining parts consumption; and performing other duties as assigned by leadership. A second responsibility area focuses on team-building and collaboration with warehouse, shipping, and receiving, following processes for system and parts management. Essential skills include knowledge of basic server architecture, assembling components to make servers functional, running and understanding testing diagnostics, basic networking concepts, recognizing common error codes, and the motivation to learn about servers and networking. Education/Experience preferred includes a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year in repairDepot, comfort with a low-production PC environment, and experience with models from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, Apple, and Acer; strong reading/writing in English; proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint; demonstrated capability to organize work priorities and follow written instructions; hands-on problem-solving and teamwork; capacity to handle physical requirements and moderate warehouse conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in Repair Depot (preferred)
  • read and write English
  • experience with multiple PC models (ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, Apple, Acer)
  • basic server architecture knowledge
  • ability to assemble components to make server functional
  • ability to run and understand testing diagnostics
  • basic networking knowledge
  • ability to troubleshoot common server errors
  • demonstrated teamwork and problem-solving
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • demonstrated skill set with temp agency experience
