Job Summary
Tech Designer is responsible for maintaining established fits and technical design processes within the apparel product development cycle. This includes maintaining fit logs and the block library, building and maintaining technical specifications (BOM, construction, measurements, and associated technical images), and creating patterns from concept prototypes through final fit approval. The role requires collaborating with Design, Merchandising, and other teams to determine fit priorities, tracking and evaluating Fit samples, Size Set samples, and Pre-Production samples against deadlines, and ensuring consistency of technical design and product creation processes. The candidate will establish initial specs based on existing body blocks, uphold fit aesthetics, and maintain documentation and timelines. 1+ years of technical design or related experience in the apparel industry is required, with strong preference for experience in sewing/pattern making and familiarity with pattern design software or 3D clothing mockup tools (e.g., Marvelous Designer, Blender). Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required; Photoshop and other Adobe Suite skills are preferred. A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Product Development, Fashion Design, Buying, Tech Design, or Merchandising is a plus but not required.
