Job Summary

Assist technologists to insure efficient workflow and optimal patient care by interviewing patients about MRI procedures, obtaining exam history (including symptoms, related studies, medical conditions, medications, allergies and surgeries) and to verify safety requirements for metal objects and implants. Help position patients on the scanner table and apply coil over the area of interest, ensure patient comfort, and gain IV access for contrast injections (not injecting). Check and stock scan rooms and patient prep rooms. Six months to one year related experience or training required; Medical Assistant certification preferred or equivalent; CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens certification required; ARRT certification required if performing X-ray; continuing education credits as required by ARRT/ACR/State of Michigan.

Required Qualifications

  • six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred, or equivalent work experience and training
  • Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience including the ability to start IV’s and perform angio-cath injections
  • basic medical terminology knowledge
  • Certification in CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens
  • Must hold a current ARRT certificate if performing X-ray
  • Continuing education in accordance of the ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan
