Job Summary
Technician 3, Electronics performs installation, maintenance, and repair of low-voltage electronic equipment across district facilities and vehicles. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and servicing data terminals, communication consoles, satellite receiver systems, base stations, radios, alarms, and other low-voltage equipment; operating test equipment (oscilloscopes, radio test sets, digital multimeters); coordinating projects with school staff; maintaining inventory records; assisting higher-level technicians; following safety and OSHA regulations; after-hours emergency call-outs; and attending required training to stay current with technology.
Required Qualifications
- Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in maintaining communication or electronic low voltage systems, with one (1) year of related management or supervisory experience required.
- Possession of a valid Florida Class E driver's license and comply with district’s Safe Driver Plan.
- Possession of a valid Federal Communications Commission General Radio Telephone license may be required prior to the end of the normal six (6) month probationary period.
- Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills; ability to interpret technical documents and schematics.
