Job Summary
Technician 2, Electronics—installation, maintenance and repair of low voltage electronic and audio/visual equipment (including CCTV/LAN) at school and administrative sites. Works under supervision, programs network electronics for operation within the district’s network, orders parts, maintains the work-order system, and operates/uses electronic test equipment. Drives district-owned vehicles with a valid Florida driver’s license (minimum 5 years) and works in a team environment under the guidance of team leaders. Requires safety awareness and proficiency with Microsoft Office; capable of troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as computers, servers, printers, copiers, UPS, networking gear, and AV equipment; may require certifications and vendor credentials; field duties may involve travel between sites as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A high school diploma, vocational, or GED certificate. Degree or formal training in computer technology is preferred.
- Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in installation, maintenance and/or repair of various types of electronic equipment.
- Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Possession of a valid Florida Class E driver's license will be required. Possession of Comptia A+ and/or Network+, and vendor certifications may be required prior to the end of the normal six-month probationary period.
