Job Summary
Tech 1 performs repair, maintenance, and rebuilding of Caterpillar, allied products, and Ag & Turf equipment in the service shop or in the field, following safety and efficiency standards. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical problems, making warranty recommendations, performing minor welding, fabrication, plumbing, and DC electric repairs, attending training, reconditioning or overhauling major components to manufacturer specifications, and maintaining customer and interdepartmental relationships. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license with a good driving record, PC skills, forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days), and owning suitable hand tools; at least 5 years of experience preferred.
