Job Summary
Develop and implement the Trainee Employee Assistance Program, delivering substance use prevention presentations to new students and conducting annual center-wide education activities. Provide individual and group counseling, manage student intervention plans, and review intake assessments within one week of arrival. Collaborate with mental health consultants, physicians, and staff to determine appropriate separations for substance use conditions and maintain liaison with community resources. Train newly employed staff on alcohol and drug abuse prevention annually and compile quarterly reports for the National Health Service.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one-year experience in drug/alcohol counseling or related field
- Experience with working with youth
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification
- Valid State Driver's License
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel
- Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of counseling techniques
- Knowledgeable in the area of substance abuse intervention program
- Ability to relate to young adults
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
