Job Summary
TEAMS Math Teacher responsible for planning, organizing and delivering instruction in secondary mathematics (grades 6-12) to meet TEAMS program requirements and maintain progress toward an advanced credential. The role requires holding an Alabama professional educator certificate or alternate certificate in secondary math, teaching full-time with endorsed math courses, complying with TEAMS Salary Schedule, meeting suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act, completing tasks with reliable attendance, maintaining records, evaluating student progress, collaborating with staff, and participating in extracurricular activities as mutually agreed. Duties include preparing lessons, establishing classroom environment, enforcing discipline, collaborating with parents and community, and engaging in professional learning, while reporting to the Principal and adhering to school policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Alabama professional educator certificate or alternate certificate in secondary math
- Must teach [full-time] approved math courses in grades 6-12 with the appropriate certificate endorsements
- Must hold a valid advanced certification or credential; or dependent upon teaching experience level, obtain a specialized certification or credential within either 3 or 6 years
- Must meet all requirements established by TEAMS Salary Schedule Program (Act #2021-340)
- Background Check Required (HB 402 ACT 99-361 Alabama Legislature) — fingerprints for background review
