Team Member - Sanitation Technician 1

Job Summary
Clean and maintain industrial equipment including ovens, conveyor belts, and HVAC systems while ensuring electrical components are covered to prevent safety issues. Execute sanitation programs such as changing filters, replacing rack wheels, and washing HVAC systems in accordance with SSOPs, GMPs, and BRCGS Food Safety Standards. Operate scissor lifts safely to clean overhead areas and address emergencies like equipment failures, water leaks, or pest issues. Support product changeovers, train fellow team members, and handle wastewater sampling or removing conveyor belts as assigned. Work weekends and up to 12-hour shifts, maintaining excellent relationships with cross-functional departments while following strict health and safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Meets requirements for their current role as outlined in 'Sanitation Skill/Training Requirements Matrix'
- Meets requirements for the Sanitation Technician I role as outlined in 'Sanitation Skill/Training Requirements Matrix'
- Minimum 6 months experience working in the sanitation industry in a food manufacturing environment
- Scissor Lift license required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the role
- Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
- Weekend schedule is required based on the needs of the department
- Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue
- Familiar with internal audits and BRC audits
- Working knowledge of GMP's, OSHA is required
