Job Summary
Potbelly is hiring Team Member to provide fast, friendly customer service across multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) in a busy Potbelly setting. You will comply with health and safety standards, restock supplies, prepare finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.), operate the cash register, handle orders and occasional delivery/pickup duties, and address customer issues. Must be able to stand for several hours, lift up to 50 lb, be at least 16 years old, and work well in a noisy, high-energy environment as part of a team. Illinois applicants may be required to obtain food safety certification within 30 days of employment. The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and adherence to food safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16 years
- Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally (10 pounds frequently)
- Willingness to obtain food safety certification within 30 days (IL applicants)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-service oriented
- Team player
- Knife skills a plus
- Experience in fast-paced environment preferred
- Comfort handling allergens (peanuts, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish)
