Job Summary
Greet customers, craft espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages, and process payments via credit card. Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing counters, sweeping, mopping, and resetting dining areas. Prepare food items like avocado toast and pastries, deliver orders, and restock ingredients and supplies. Support baristas and kitchen staff during peak hours while following health and safety guidelines. This role requires standing 90% of the shift and includes a food handler certification. La La Land Cafe is a movement dedicated to spreading kindness and inclusivity.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- A naturally positive attitude and a genuine love for connecting with people
- Previous work experience as a Barista or Customer Service
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Basic math skills
- Ability to gauge customers' preferences
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, holidays and weekends
- Food handler certification
- Standing (90%) – Extended periods throughout the shift
- Walking (15%) – Assisting team members and customers within the café
- Bending/Reaching (20%) – Retrieving products, stocking shelves, and cleaning workspaces
- Lifting/Carrying (20%) – Carrying objects up to 25 lbs., including supplies and inventory
- Reaching (3%) – Accessing storage areas above shoulder level
