Job Summary
Greet customers, process sales, and manage fuel console, lottery, and money order transactions while maintaining accurate cash and inventory records. Perform multi-function cleaning duties to uphold store standards, inspect equipment for safety, and report maintenance needs. Complete build-to's for merchandise, verify vendor deliveries, and rotate stock to ensure adequate supplies. Control merchandise and cash shortages, handle sales discrepancies, and report incidents such as theft or injuries to the Store Manager. Maintain accurate timekeeping paperwork and attend required meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment that may include cash registers or scanners; hot or cold or beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools
- Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below
- Ability to work in the conditions described below
- Ability to be exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes performing occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or outdoors
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist
- Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift
- Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds
- Ability to reach overhead for objects
- Ability to bend and twist at waist
- Ability to communicate orally
- Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard
- Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull
- Ability to work alone
- Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
- Ability to climb a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs
- Approximately 95% of all work indoors
- Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while performing occasional work in a walk in cooler and/or freezer
- Exposure to occasional noise
- Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must be able to work weekdays
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in retail sales preferred
- Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred
