Job Summary
Operate machinery and perform production activities by reading machine instructions, safety manuals, and process specifications. Set up and tear down equipment, validate progress, and adjust operations as necessary. Assemble parts by hand or with power tools while conducting routine minor maintenance and maintaining 5S standards in the work area. Identify potential hazards, align with safety policies, and encourage teammates to reduce risk. Notify the chain of command regarding quality or production issues with suggested solutions. Provide accurate record keeping and support small group problem-solving activities. Maintain 5S in the work area and look for continuous improvement opportunities. Work in a fast-paced plant environment requiring long periods of standing, lifting up to 60 pounds, and wearing full PPE.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to accurately use measuring devices (pi-tape, air pressure gauges, etc.)
- Ability to operate power tools (hand saws, drill guns, jig saw, etc.)
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read detailed instructions
- Provide accurate record keeping
- Basic computer knowledge
- Proven success in the training of co-workers
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and work independently
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours per day)
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 120 lbs with assistance on an occasional basis
- Must have close vision
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must be available for additional days outside established work schedule
- Must be able to work in the plant and outdoors in the field
- Must be able to wear all PPE depending on circumstance which may include: safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, safety vest and steel toed boots
- Must be able to work various shifts
- Must be available for Overtime
