Job Summary
Lead a team of Wealth Planners delivering financial planning and investment advice through virtual and phone-based service models. Conduct regular coaching, mentorship, and performance conversations to support employee growth while championing an advice-first culture focused on holistic financial planning. Monitor planning quality, member outcomes, productivity, and service levels to drive continuous improvement and business results. Partner with branch leaders and internal stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and ensure seamless member experiences. Manage a geographically dispersed team in a virtual or hybrid environment, with two days of on-site presence at Head Office as required.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, financial planning, or a related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience within wealth management, financial planning, investment advisory, or a related financial services environment
- At least 2 years of leadership experience coaching, developing, or managing advice-based professionals
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams in a virtual, hybrid, contact centre, or geographically dispersed environment
- Deep understanding of comprehensive financial planning principles and wealth management practices
- Strong knowledge of investment products, retirement planning, risk management, cash flow planning, estate planning fundamentals, and tax-efficient wealth strategies
- Demonstrated ability to coach advisors through complex financial planning conversations and member scenarios
- Strong understanding of advice-based sales practices focused on member outcomes, relationship-building, and long-term financial well-being
- Proven ability to build engagement, trust, team culture, and accountability without day-to-day in-person interaction
- Strong communication, relationship-building, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills
- Ability to leverage data, performance insights, and coaching observations to improve planning quality, member experience, and business outcomes
- Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements within financial services and wealth management
- Mutual Fund License (IFIC or CSI)
- Availability on-site two days per week or as required by business demands at our Vancity Head Office
Desired Qualifications
- CFP, PFP, CIM, FCSI, CLU, or equivalent advanced financial planning or wealth management designation
- Securities licensing
- Previous leadership experience in a multi-branch or distributed advisory environment
- Additional training or certification in coaching or adult education
