Job Summary
Team Leader Sales Engineering Propulsion leading a ~6-person Sales Engineering team in a global marine propulsion context. Responsible for coordinating technical bids and solutions across Thrusters, Propellers, Gearboxes, Waterjets and Propulsion Control Systems; shaping early sales discussions, preparing technical and commercial documentation, and supporting sales teams through bid and deal transfer to project execution. Requires leadership in a global environment, deep propulsion product knowledge, strong bid-management skills in QMS, customer-facing experience, and the ability to drive performance, develop the team, and coordinate cross-functional activities with product groups and other business units. Preferred locations include Drunen (NL), Gdynia (PL), or Shanghai (CN); willingness to travel internationally is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years working as a Sales Engineer in the marine industry
- Leadership experience in a global environment
- Excellent knowledge of Business Unit Propulsion offering and products
- Experience of sales, preferably also in the customer interface
- Strong planning, target setting and follow-up skills
- Ability to lead, coach and develop a team of sales engineers
- Ability to define and tailor technical content and scope of solutions based on customer discussions
- Ability to manage multiple sales projects simultaneously
- Independent and entrepreneurial drive
- Ability to switch priorities based on customer requirements
