Job Summary
Ensure technical quality, efficiency, and accuracy of specimen processing and molecular testing across various sample-to-answer platforms at Deaconess Hospital Midtown. Lead and guide the Microbiology leadership team in shaping infectious disease testing across multiple campuses. Demonstrate leadership qualities by motivating others while maintaining proficiency with LIS, EPIC, and MS Office. Work on uncarpeted floors for significant portions of shifts. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science, ASCP registration, and minimum three years of experience in Microbiology or clinical laboratory science.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science (Biology/Chemistry) from an accredited U.S. college or university
- Registered Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent registration
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Microbiology, Molecular or other clinical laboratory
- Proficient with LIS, EPIC and MS Office
- Ability to stand and work on uncarpeted floors for duration or significant portion of shift
- Demonstration of leadership qualities, e.g., maturity, job knowledge, professionalism, communication skills, etc. to lead, guide and motivate others
