Job Summary
Team Leader - Distribution role oversees a warehouse-based team responsible for ensuring timely shipment of materials and finished goods while maintaining safety, Lean process adherence, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include supervising staff, recruiting and evaluating performance, driving safety initiatives and incident investigations, conducting safety walkthroughs, coordinating with carriers for inbound/outbound material flow, managing inventory processes (cycle counting, MDR processing, slotting optimization, pick-path optimization), balancing labor resources, escalating customer/supplier/manufacturing issues, updating SOPs to align with current Good Manufacturing Practices, and maintaining 5S and Lean standards. Required skills include leadership and motivation, knowledge of lean concepts and warehousing/logistics application, experience with E1/WMS/SAP ERP systems, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to operate in a temperature-varied warehouse with PPE and potential exposure to hazardous materials. Education and experience align with a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years in a Team Lead role in distribution/operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of related experience as a Team Lead within a distribution/operations environment
- Proven ability to motivate teams and establish goals, metrics, data and plans to achieve organizational objectives
- Knowledge of lean material concepts and application in warehousing and logistics
- Knowledge of E1 / WMS / SAP ERP systems
- MS-Office Capabilities (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to work in warehouse environment involving varied temperatures and physical tasks (lift up to 40 lbs)
- Understanding of SOPs and cGMP requirements
- Strong safety orientation and ability to participate in safety initiatives
- Experience with inventory management processes (cycle-counting, slotting, etc.)
