Team Leader – Classification Testing

Job Summary
Lead and supervise the classification testing team in an on-site laboratory in Wallingford, delivering high-quality classification tests for construction, energy, and environmental projects. Manage test execution, equipment maintenance, and QA/QC processes; collaborate with other laboratory teams to optimise resource sharing and workflow; monitor testing schedules and progress; support team development through training, performance reviews, and competency audits. Drive a safety-first culture (QHSSE) and continuous improvement, contributing to accurate data and efficient operations in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent experience
- Solid experience in a soil testing laboratory
- Experience managing small to medium teams
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong IT skills including Excel and laboratory testing software
