Job Summary
Lead and support the FX team daily, managing performance, individual development, and staffing strategies to maintain AAA-quality standards. Organize production, prioritize work alongside an Associate Producer, and ensure visual effects assets are delivered on time. Collaborate with the Technical Director to optimize the production pipeline, coordinate outsourcing efforts, and act as an ambassador for the FX department. Serve as a trusted partner to the Art Director, helping shape artistic decisions and categorize assets by production priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Art Team Lead on large-scale AAA productions
- Strong understanding of AAA game development pipelines
- Solid experience in team leadership and people management
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong artistic eye
- Lead, support, and inspire the FX team on a daily basis
- Manage team performance and support individual development
- Bring structure, consistency, and efficiency to team processes
- Mentor team members and foster their professional growth
- Oversee team staffing, including planning, recruitment, and mitigation strategies
- Understand production pipeline challenges and contribute to pipeline improvements and optimizations
- Organize production, prioritize work, and ensure deadlines are met
- Act as an ambassador for the FX department within the project and support production decisions
- Coordinate outsourcing efforts and manage relationships with external partners when required
- Act as a trusted partner to the Art Director, able to discuss, challenge, and help shape artistic decisions
- Help categorize assets according to production priorities and constraints
