Job Summary
Lead the trims development process for a 6-month contract, driving the creation and commercialization of trims that meet quality standards; mentor the trims team, manage calendars and supplier meetings, and collaborate with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, QA and Compliance to align with product strategy, target prices, and sustainability goals. Research new trims concepts, maintain development calendars and SOPs, and oversee PLM/ERP-related activities while coordinating with suppliers to deliver trims that meet commercial needs.
Required Qualifications
- College OR university degree in Textiles, Material Engineering or a comparable degree/education
- Minimum of 5-8 years work experience in Trim Development, preferably within the outdoor apparel industry
- Good management and leadership skills with the ability to guide a small team
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
- Technically sound Trims and Colour development background
- Strong knowledge of the trim development process including textiles, moulding, construction, finishing and printing techniques
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Previous experience with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
