Job Summary
Team Lead responsible for markets, underwriting new and renewal business, and mentoring a multi-person team of underwriters and brokers. Leads and develops staff, manages workload and production targets, negotiates terms with markets, ensures adherence to underwriting guidelines and company procedures, maintains agent and company relationships, and supervises submissions from quote to binding. Requires maintaining licenses, understanding insurance policies, and ability to travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation
- Three years of experience in underwriting or brokering E&S insurance products
- Must be licensed in corresponding areas of insurance
- Ability to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
- Knowledge of risk profiles and client needs
- Leadership and team skills
- Familiarity with commercial multi-line underwriting and rating
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with agencies and carriers
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
