Job Summary
Coach and mentor a team of approximately nine full-time maintenance schedulers, developing training requirements and succession planning. Lead collaborative leadership efforts to optimize maintenance workflows, mitigate safety risks, and balance office-based activities with field engagement. Ensure the CMMS remains accurate by working with cross-functional teams to maintain awareness of scheduled activities and review complex job plans. Promote a safe work environment by participating in and ensuring all safety and environmental activities are completed as required. Support the continuous improvement of maintenance best practices to align with refinery and industry standards. Lead the Maintenance Scheduling team at Irving Oil's Saint John Refinery, fostering strong collaboration between maintenance, operations, and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in refinery equipment operation or maintenance management processes such as planning, scheduling or execution
- Post-secondary education in trades, engineering, engineering technology or equivalent experience
- Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong, collaborative team leadership
- Able to lead and facilitate meetings, direct team towards common goals
- Able to build close working relationships with area teams to ensure everyone is set up for success
- Able to develop, track, and report on KPIs that are relevant to progressing the goals of the maintenance and operations teams
- Strong attention to details and analytical skills
- A comprehensive understanding of sequencing and prioritization of tasks associated with performing maintenance activities on refinery equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a management role leading a team would be an asset
- Familiar with MS Project, Oracle eAM, Viziya, Primavera P6 is an asset
