Job Summary
Team Lead for the Surgery Scheduling Department oversees daily scheduling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely coordination of surgical procedures. Collaborates with regional managers and directors, provides on-site supervision for surgery scheduling staff, ensures accurate CPT/diagnosis coding and proper equipment and instructions, resolves scheduling issues, supports process improvements, and participates in leadership planning and staff development. Requires strong communication with surgeons, adherence to policies, and leadership in coordinating schedules and training for non-clinical support staff. Mandatory LMS coursework annually and commitment to high patient-centered service quality.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- Successful completion of the EANM Insurance Test
- Achievement of the CCOA certification preferred
- Experience in Microsoft Office and other computer experience
- Experience and/or training in bookkeeping is preferred
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology with 2 years of healthcare experience
- Must be cross-trained and proficient in all surgical subspecialties
- Successful completion of the CPSS, the national CPSS exam and maintain CE hours
