Job Summary
Direct shipping, receiving, and order picking while managing inventory flow and enforcing workplace health and safety rules. Assign daily tasks, train new workers, and coach staff to ensure orders go out fast and right. Fix shipping delays or missing items quickly and maintain good housekeeping in all assigned areas. Operate equipment safely, complete appropriate forms, and report all safety issues immediately. Work in compliance with all company rules, OHSA standards, and SOPs.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years working in a warehouse or distribution setting
- High School Diploma/GED
- Clear speaking skills to direct workers and talk with managers
- Stand/walk for significant periods of time
- Be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
- Good manual dexterity, hand eye co-ordination
- Comfortable completing repetitive tasks
- Attention to detail
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Read and comprehend instructions, email correspondence, memos & schedules
- Communicate both verbally and electronically (email)
- Work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
- Have excellent knowledge of operations and processes as necessary to the position
- Complete appropriate forms legibly and clearly
- Perform computer functions as necessary to complete assigned paperwork
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain good housekeeping in all assigned areas
- Abide to OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards
- Report all Health & Safety issues immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Come to work prepared (both mentally and materially) to work in a variety of environments (all seasons, indoors & outdoors)
- Have a valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift Experience is an asset but is not required
