Team Lead, Software Engineering

Job Summary
Lead a team of 3–5 engineers by mentoring their growth, managing day-to-day delivery, and removing blockers to keep work aligned with business goals. Split time roughly evenly between hands-on engineering and leadership, contributing to code, architecture, and technical design across the TypeScript stack. Partner with Product, Design, and Data to translate priorities into roadmaps, while collaborating with other engineering leaders on cross-team architecture and standards. Coach the team through peer reviews, pairings, and system design discussions to raise quality, and handle hiring, onboarding, and retention as the team scales.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of industry experience building software
- 1–2 years leading or managing engineers
- Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (TypeScript, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in frontend or backend frameworks (React, Vue, Express, etc.)
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Solid experience with microservices architecture
- Strong database skills with PostgreSQL or similar
- Proven track record of shipping complex projects end-to-end
- Experience coaching and growing engineers
- Comfortable operating in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Jira or GitHub Projects
