Job Summary
Lead a team of 2–3 developers: set priorities, conduct code reviews, and support career growth. Architect and build event-driven microservices using Node.js, TypeScript, RabbitMQ, and MongoDB. Drive adoption of hexagonal architecture across services. Own technical decisions around service boundaries, messaging, data modeling, and deployment strategies. Establish and maintain engineering standards—testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation. Collaborate with product, design, and stakeholders to translate requirements into deliverable technical plans. Identify bottlenecks, manage technical debt, and continuously improve team velocity and code quality. Evaluate and introduce AI/agentic capabilities into the platform as the roadmap evolves. The role requires 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior mentorship capacity, deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, solid hands-on experience with MongoDB, and a proven ability to balance leadership with hands-on coding (approximately 60% coding, 40% leadership). Strong communication skills and experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and modern DevOps practices are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 1-2 years in a lead or senior mentorship capacity
- Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript in production environments
- Experience with event-driven architectures using message brokers (RabbitMQ or Kafka)
- MongoDB experience including schema design, aggregation pipelines, indexing, performance tuning
- Proven track record applying hexagonal/clean architecture principles
- Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on contribution (approx. 60% coding, 40% leadership)
- Strong communication skills to explain technical trade-offs to engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and modern DevOps practices
