Team Lead, Software Development, Altitude

Job Summary
Lead the design and delivery of scalable, data-driven features across the Altitude platform by combining hands-on technical leadership with people management. Direct software development projects using an AI-first mindset, ensuring efficient code implementation that satisfies customer requirements. Manage task assignments and work arrangements for engineers and UX designers while collaborating with product managers and data scientists to define and ship products. Conduct comprehensive testing, code reviews, and security-driven development to maximize code quality and best practices. Oversee direct reports through coaching, mentorship, and performance management, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years experience as a Software Developer using object-oriented programming to build scalable applications
- Leadership experience in a team-oriented workplace, including success with coaching, development, and performance management of direct reports
- Experience managing or providing direction to a UX designer or design function, including reviewing prototypes and giving meaningful design feedback
- Technical proficiency with Google BigQuery, cloud-native data pipelines (GCP preferred), Docker, Kubernetes, and messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Hands-on experience across full-stack technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Storybook, Node.js, Go, Python) and distributed source control tools (Git)
- Proven experience leveraging AI to write code, optimize workflows, and streamline development processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with high accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule (if applicable)
