Job Summary
Team Lead-Sergeant-Police Officer position at IU Health Public Safety (Arnett Hospital onsite) with full-time day or night shifts. Leads shift operations, supervises police officers and Public Safety Officers, assigns work, and ensures proper coverage. Conducts rounding, patrols (foot and vehicle), responds to calls, enforces rules and state statutes, de-escalates tense situations, investigates incidents/crashes as needed, maintains records and reports, oversees training, and coordinates with other agencies. Requires high school diploma/GED or Associate's degree with related law enforcement experience, Indiana driver’s license, completion of state training, NCIC/IDACS access, ability to obtain certifications, and successful completion of background checks and psychological evaluation. Onsite role based in Lafayette, IN.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent OR Associate's degree
- Five years of law enforcement experience OR three years with Associate's degree
- Current non-restricted Indiana Driver's License
- Completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Tier I or II training
- IU Health DPS field training program completion
- Must obtain NCIC/IDACS certification and access
- No convictions for felony, domestic violence or violent misdemeanor offenses
- Background check, drug screening, and psychological exam required
- Working knowledge of computers and various software programs
- Never had law enforcement license denied by final order or revoked
- Not currently suspended or surrendered of a law enforcement license
