Job Summary
Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through closeout, overseeing planning, design, and construction administration while coordinating with architects, owners, and contractors. Direct innovative system design, provide technical oversight for calculations and documentation, and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards. Monitor progress, anticipate risks, and resolve challenges to keep clients and teams informed. Mentor multidisciplinary team members and champion quality-assurance processes. This role supports the continued growth of the practice across healthcare, education, government, and commercial sectors. Flexible hybrid schedule with three days per week in the Washington, D.C. office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer license.
- At least 10 years of experience in MEP mechanical design and consulting.
- Demonstrated project management and team leadership experience within the A/E or MEP industry.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical building systems, applicable codes, industry standards, and design practices.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, communication, organization, and client-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to technical quality and project details.
- Flexible hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday—in the Washington, D.C. office.
Desired Qualifications

- LEED accreditation or other relevant sustainability credentials.
- Experience using Autodesk Revit.
- Experience leading projects in healthcare, laboratory, education, government, commercial, or other technically demanding markets.
