Job Summary
Lead and coordinate daily production crew activities, assigning tasks, monitoring workflow, and adjusting staffing to meet goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for team members, providing on-the-floor coaching, training, and performance feedback. Enforce safety regulations, quality standards, and PPE requirements while identifying hazards and ensuring compliance. Review production schedules, verify quality checks, and coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Warehouse teams to resolve issues. Maintain accurate records for attendance, training, and production metrics. Work hands-on 60-80% of the time in a fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring physical stamina and decision-making skills.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership or senior operator role within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational abilities
- High school diploma or GED required
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including overtime as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet navigation
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand, stoop, twist, climb and repetitively perform tasks for long periods of time (8 to 12 hours)
- Able to bend the body forward and downward while bending at the spine at the waist 45 degrees or more; bending below the waist or down toward an object on or near the ground
- Able to work around hot molds, presses, cranes, and industrial equipment and work in tight spaces
- Able to use hands and fingers to seize, hold, grasp objects
- Ability to extend arms with the hands higher than the head; reaching at or below shoulder level
- Ascend or descend ramps and/or stairs using feet and legs
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (machinery alarms, medical codes, or warnings)
- Close vision (distance of 20 inches or less) and ability to identify/distinguish colors
- Temperature in facility can vary up to 90 degrees. Candidates must be able to perform duties in hot and cold environments
